The Festival
The word “CaMiCandó” incorporates
Canyengue, Milonga and Candombe.
Every March, dancers from all corners
of the globe meet in Buenos Aires at
CaMiCandó for a week of intensive
workshops in these dance forms.
The festival is classic and purist . CaMiCandó  focus on the root styles of  tango (Canyengue, Milonga,
Candombe) and their contemporary expressions.  The participants appreciate this opportunity to
experience the sources of tango, to connect themselves with the root styles which are the source for all
contemporary variations and future developments of tango.
Apart from the intensive workshops,
participants also enjoy exclusive
presentations of rare, old,
never-seen-before private video and
film footage of dance exhibitions,
tango talks and the popular
CaMiCandó milonga nights.
"… great to experience how the love for Canyengue and the roots of tango
connects people from all over the world, who don’t know each other’s
languages but understand each other and have fun dancing together.”
The CaMiCandó festival provides an excellent
opportunity to expand your tanguero skills with
the different techniques and rhythms of the so-
called ‘roots-styles’ of tango.
CaMiCandó is the only tango festival in the world specialised in the roots of tango
and the first styles of tango dance
CaMiCandó is organised by the Argentinian cultural association
'Movimiento Cultural Canyengue Argentino' (Mo.C.C.A).
Mo.C.C.A is a not-for-profit organisation that  promotes Tango
Canyengue globally, so that people all over the world can enjoy
the special canyengue embrace which, more than any other tango
embrace, creates a close connection between two dancers.
The CaMiCandó festival package
includes two milongas at  major
Buenos Aires tango venues, with
music by live orchestras.

Alumni of the festival will have a
chance to perform at the festival's
closing night milonga.
Closing Night in La Baldosa:
La Baldosa is the milonga in the
mythic Salon ‘El Pial’, located in
Calle Ramon Falcon 2750, in the
Flores quarter of Buenos Aires.
This Salon, dating from the 1940’s,
maintains a musical tradition that
originated with Argentinian folk
music and later tango, in an
environment that preserves the
characteristic architectural style of
the first milongas. It is much
cherished by the aficionados of the
milonga style of the 1940’s and
1950’s.
All CaMiCandó classes will take
place in a classic milonga salon
(with wooden floor and air
conditioning) in central Buenos
Aires.
